PLC’ers Teammates In Class and On the Courts

October 26, 2011 Twitter

In the second round of CU Boulder Intramural sports this semester, the Purple Lion Competition (PLC) notched a 3-1 victory in Broomball. Organized by Presidents Leadership Class Program Fellow Joseph (Joey) Arora, intramural sports are fast becoming a popular part of the PLC culture.

In the first session of intramurals, PLC fielded teams in: soccer, football, basketball, volleyball and inner tube water polo. While there are no champions to date, the experience has allowed students to connect across the four years of students in semi-competitive and always fun environments. Aurora, a member of the PLC volleyball team that made an early exit in the intramural playoffs, said, “This is a great way for our students to connect and to get to know other PLC'ers on campus.”

Aurora has been a strong proponent of bringing PLC students together by creating intramural sports teams. PLC’s broomball game Monday night saw a PLC squad dominate the game with a group that was playing together for the first time. While the ultimate prize for the intramural champion is a t-shirt, the program also serves as a way for students to relieve stress and just plain have fun.

With that said, look for PLC students to be sporting “Intramural Champion” shirts in the near future.
