Leslie Danks Burke Running for Congress in upstate New York as Democrat in Primary

CU Alum Leslie Danks Burke has taken her quest for leadership to an entire new level as a candidate for Congress in upstate New York.

A graduate of the University of Colorado - Boulder \ and the University of Chicago School of Law, Lesie is a lawyer with over a decade of experience in international litigation and large-scale civil rights litigation. She is also a mom raising two daughters.

A native of Colorado, Danks Burke's  parents are farmers in Eastern Colorado (Kersey) and she understands the challenges that rural economic policy presents. "We must focus on jobs and restoring our economy, as well as protecting our environment," said Danks Burke.

The primary election is scheduled for June 26h.

Leslie participated in the Student Leadership Institute, a predecessor to the Colorado Leadership Alliance, was a Tri-Ex while on campus and friends to many PLC'ers.
