Jake Davis Selected as new PLC Program Director _ Welcome!

July 2, 2012 Twitter

The Presidents Leadership Class announces that Jake Davis has been appointed the new PLC Program Director.

Jake arrives at PLC after working in a unique array of leadership roles, ranging from the non-profit sector to the military.  Most recently he was the Chief Operating Officer at The Safe Conflict Project, a Boulder based NGO focused on global conflict resolution. While at Safe Conflict Jake was introduced to PLC and mentored numerous PLC students as they did their Walkabout Intensives with Safe Conflict.

"Jake is the perfect fit for our team," said PLC Director Steve Grace.  "He brings an extraordinary set of strengths and a personality that made him the right candidate for Program Director position."

Davis fills the post made vacant by Tiffany Anderson's move to a senior, strategic and planning position with PLC.  Tiffany will also be dividing her time between PLC and a project with the Leeds School of Business.

Prior to his work with Safe Conflict, Jake was an Active Duty Officer in the US Army. He served with the 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team for four years, completing two tours to Afghanistan. In Afghanistan, Jake ran the Brigade's Tactical Operation Center, overseeing day to day combat operations across 14,000 square miles of north eastern Afghanistan and managing the use of medical evacuation aircraft, aerial surveillance aircraft, air and helicopter attack support, and large scale troop movements. Jake will continue his service as a Company Commander in the Army Reserves through March, 2013.

In addition to Jake's military service, he also wrote for Skiing Magazine and spent time as a professional wilderness guide. He helped build an innovative Wilderness Education program at a series of Denver area charter schools that combines classroom curriculum with wilderness experiences in the Rocky Mountains.

Jake is a graduate of Northern Michigan University and a former Michigander. Now a Boulder local, he's an avid skier, mountain biker, and fly fisher. He's thrilled to be part of the PLC team and is looking forward to getting to know all of you.

If you're on campus, please stop by the office and say hello to Jake.
