2015 PLC Day of SeviceOn Saturday November 7th, twenty-three students from the Presidents Leadership Class program spent the day servicing the Silver Lake Ditch in Boulder Colorado in the Inaugural PLC Day of Service. Partnering with Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks, the volunteers were able to clear out mud, weeds, trash and debris from the very clogged waterway that is essential to Boulder's water supply. This effort involved PLC students from all grades and doubled as a community building event, allowing for new relationships to develop and grow, while helping maintain the natural beauty in Boulder. The experience proved very rewarding and preparations are being made to initiate a second Day of Service come 2016. |
