About PLC

Minor in Leadership Studies

Students in the Presidents Leadership Class are uniquely positioned to declare, complete, and earn a minor in Leadership Studies at CU Boulder.  PLC is one of the few select and deliberate pathways to the minor.

To declare a Minor in Leadership Studies:

1. Email Jessie (kasynski@colorado.edu) to access the declaration form.

2. Fill out the form, making sure to fill out all necessary information, and SIGN IT

3. To declare a minor for a December graduation, you must submit the form to the PLC office by SEPT.1 of the same academic year

4 To declare a minor for a May graduation, you must submit the form to the PLC office by NOV. 20 of the same academic year


Below you will see the requirements for the Minor in Leadership Studies and how the PLC curriculum directly fits into the completion of the minor:

MINOR REQUIREMENT 1:  The Foundations Course, 3 Credits

            PRLC 1810:  Ethical Leadership (3 credits)

MINOR REQUIREMENT 2:  Three Approved Elective Courses, 3 credits per category, 9 credits total

      Leadership Foundations (3 credits required)

              PRLC 1820: Community Issues in Leadership (3 credits)

      Leadership Applications (3 credits required)

               PRLC 2820: Multi-Level Issues in Leadership (3 credits)

       Leadership in Context (3 credits required)

                PRLC 3810: Global Issues in Leadership (3 credits)

                 PRLC 3800: Global Inquiry in 21st Century Leadership (3 credits)

MINOR REQUIREMENT 3:  Capstone Course, 4 credits

               LEAD 4000: Capstone in Leadership Studies
