The Presidents Leadership Institute is the home of the nationally recognized Presidents Leadership Class (PLC), a four-year leadership development program for top students at the University of Colorado at Boulder. PLC is supported and directed by a unique public-private partnership between the Presidents Leadership Institute and the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Each year, 50 of the University of Colorado at Boulder's top entering freshmen are selected to be PLC scholars. Each scholar is awarded a merit-based scholarship and receives four years of rigorous leadership training that fosters both intellectual and personal growth. PLC develops leaders who stand out in any crowd and have a profound understanding of leadership and its responsible application within organizations, communities, the nation, and the world.
PLC's four-year curriculum includes strong academic and experiential components designed to strategically orient scholars to the theory and practice of leadership. Scholars develop leadership skills through weekly lectures given by prominent business and community leaders, discussion groups, group projects, community service, and local and international internships. Most importantly, PLC scholars join a small and diverse community of passionate students while having access to all of the resources available at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
